Body Brokers are paying patients to attend certain rehabs
GOOD NEWS! There still exists many wonderful recovery programs but you must stay alert. Remembering the old adage "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is".
Patient Brokering, also known as "Body Brokering",
This practice is where insurance-driven treatment programs are vested in treating the addict as many times as possible, in a single year. promises of airline tickets to beautiful treatment locations, kick-backs upon completion, and even more drugs while you wait for your next trip to "rehab".
Incentivizing 'going to treatment' while cashing-in on big bucks, leaving the actual patient with no real treatment, at all. A revolving door of insurance billings and addicts who thought they were finally going to get real help.
These programs typically use stock-photos and use outside sales people who don't know anything about addiction, have never been to the facility, and, are not invested in the care you or your family member requires. Body-Broker programs usually include very short-stays, for example; 5 days for detox, 14 for treatment, then, sober living for 20 days - all taking place a separate facilities.
Often times, these program are run out of motel rooms, retail store fronts, and even, abandoned houses.
THIS IS NOT HOW PEOPLE GET BETTER!
